ESPN’s Adam Schefter has the latest on Miller:

At this juncture, the league's confidentiality clause on these types of cases has stopped it from elaborating on the issue.

There has been no comment from Miller or his camp regarding the nature of the suspension.

Lindsay Jones of USA Today noted that the Broncos are aware of Miller’s potential suspension:

The 24-year-old recorded 18.5 sacks last season and was named First Team All-Pro.

It's been a tough offseason for the Broncos, as Matt Russell—director of player personnel—was arrested earlier in the month for a DUI after rear-ending the SUV of a police officer, as per ESPN.

The team suspended Russell for his actions.

According to ESPN, director of pro personnel Tom Heckert was arrested for a DUI a week later and was also issued a suspension.

If Miller is forced to miss time in 2013, it would be a huge blow to a team many project to contend for a Super Bowl title.

Denver won 13 games last year and nabbed the top seed in the playoffs, but it was unable to capitalize on that position. The Baltimore Ravens—the eventual Super Bowl champions—would defeat the Broncos in overtime during the divisional round.

With Peyton Manning under center and Miller serving as a versatile, destructive force on defense, expectations are soaring for Denver in 2013.

While the Broncos would still be a decent unit without their star defensive player on the field, there’s no question his presence would be missed.

If the appeal fails and Miller is forced to serve the suspension, it could cost Denver home-field advantage—or worse—in the AFC.
