Game On 2.0 - the world's largest video game exhibition coming to the Museum of Technology - Cision Wire (press release)

In October, the international traveling exhibition Game On 2.0, the Technical Museum. Play through 100′s favorites by computer gaming history, from the 1960s to the present.

Game On 2.0 is successful exhibition which attracted millions of visitors in museums and science centers worldwide. With over 100 games to try, original sketches, rare collectables and background stories, it is the world’s largest videogame exhibition. Now it is clear that the next stop on the tour will be the Technical Museum in Stockholm, starting just in time for the autumn holidays in late October.

It is a heaven for anyone who loves the game – no one else in the world has such a large collection of games to try as in the exhibition Game On 2.0, created by the Barbican in London. There is a huge arcade with over 100 games to try from the 1960s to the present, and the galleries of original sketches, games, music and background stories.

Taking Game On 2.0 to Stockholm is part of the Technical Museum’s recently started projects around the collection and documentation of computer game history. By showing Game On 2.0 hope the museum find important contacts among players and the industry, which can help us to find the stories and objects to its collections. Earlier this year, computer game art was displayed in the exhibition Heart game, and in the future expect more shows and program activities on the theme.

The first version of Game On started his world tour in 2002, and passed the one million visitors after having been shown in museums and science centers in the London, Melbourne, Chicago and Athens.
