Baasland lost 60 million dollars on online gambling in the two companies during the period 2005 to 2008.
Bjarte Baasland is the son of Ernst Baasland, who was a bishop in Stavanger when the case became known. The parents Ernst and Borghild Baasland borrowed NOK 40 million of friends to help her son.
It all ended with her father was beaten bankruptcy and had to resign as bishop. The mother was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, and Bjarte Baasland was sentenced to five months imprisonment.
