I think there is overpriced the drive to do justice by the developers. If they make a good game, They Should be rewarded. If I’ve put 48 hours in, then I do think the developer ought to be rewarded for its good service. For me, it’s about justice. If I borrow a friends copy of a game, and I play it to death or find it was a rewarding experience, then I will likely shell out the money for a copy, even if I had no plans to play it further. People Should be rewarded for good Behaviours and punished for bath Behaviours. I was recently playing March of War. I would not recommend it, and otherwise I have no not rest in paying for it. But I’m much more happy to pay to get exactly what I want in a game that i put many hours into, just like I’m more happy to give money to buskers if They have a good show. Interestingly Is that pirates thwart display this kind of behavior, if we believe the news.
I think that’s part of the Developing morality of the internet. You can take what you want for thwart no price at all, but if you use it regularly or appreciate the work That went into the object, then you give money. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. I like to link this to the place of moral autonomy Mentioned by Kant in his What is the Enlightenment? The digital world, so far, is one where everyone is guided by Their conscience, and I could not be more thrilled about this, despite Those Who are only here for a free ride.
