Lee Nutter has taken to the stage to welcome the guests. He’s head of games for Future.
“It’s going to be an afternoon of partying and heavy drinking – or as I call it breakfast!”
There’s 700 of gaming industry stars in the room.
“We want to recognise the fantastic creativity and talent of the people in the room.”
He says that his gaming highlights of 2013 have been FIFA 13, The Last of Us, Walking Dead, and Star Trek.
Loud cheers for a mention of GTA5 – the Rockstar table are having a good time.
“The awards are decided by the great British gaming public, and this year 10 million people voted, eclipsing last years record of 4 million.”
Huge cheers for that very impressive number.
Ummmm…. Two guys wearing clown masks came on stage and placed a brown bag over Lee’s head and dragged him off stage.
We’re now seeing a video of Lee and his “captors” forcing him to read off a card, encouraging guests to donate to GamesAid.
The editors are now telling us how “blindingly bright” the future is with a pre recorded video.
“The best is yet to come,” they say.
