exhibition “Game On 2.0″ now visits the Technical Museum in Stockholm has been touring the world for eleven years. The secret of success: almost all games can be played.
– A large part of the exhibition is that we try to run any game on the original hardware. We want to recreate the original experience and the whole package is important, the screen you are viewing, control you use, says Patrick Morgan, who is on site from the UK Barbican to make sure all items are in place.
exhibition floor crowded with old pinball arcade classics like “Pong” and “Computer Space”. Old console games like “Mario Bros.” and “Street Fighter” series shown on heavy TV sets, to feel to be correct.
Many articles have been around since the 70 -, 80 -, and 90′s, and since visitors can test everything happens, things break.
– The public may not have the same reverence for the machines that we have. But we have an on-site technician who live with the exhibition and repair any items that need repair.
How did you select the games?
– Many quarrels. Here in Stockholm, the exhibition is a little smaller so we have not included all the games we had before. It is always difficult to make these choices, but there are over 100 playable titles. Visitors will definitely find games they never heard of, and games they forgot said Patrick Moran.
