Sweden GameArena writes Agenda for games - Cision Wire (press release)

Games is one of the fastest growing industries, and Sweden are among the world’s top ten exporters. Swedish game developer is among the world’s foremost in a global industry predicted a bright future – but despite this lack of a national strategy for the long term we will strengthen our global competitiveness and secure future exports and growth. At the beginning of next year starts ‘Agenda: GAME’ – a project that takes a first step in positioning the game as its own research and innovation area.

Project Agenda: GAME brings together actors from the games industry, universities, colleges, research institutes, science parks, incubators and public activities.
– The goal is to create a national research and innovation agenda for long-term take advantage of our opportunities in the gaming area and strengthen future competitiveness, says project manager Sara Backlund, Interactive Institute, Swedish ICT.

Project has been awarded a planning grant under the Strategic Innovation areas, a joint venture between VINNOVA, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas.

the Agenda GAME cooperates initially Interactive Institute, Swedish ICT, University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology, Games Industry, Rovio Sweden, COMBITECH Saab AB, Gothia Science Park The Game Incubator, Sweden GameArena, Linköping University, Visualization Center C, University of Skövde, Visual Arena Lindholmen and Business Region Göteborg. More players will be involved during the work.
